roll your way to better skin

The complexion-improving benefits of face massage are REAL. Research has shown that face massage can delay the onset of wrinkles + have major tightening effects. And this method - comes with the history to back it up! Jade rollers were used in ancient China to leave skin looking + feeling refreshed, while balancing your body's energy providing soothing + tension relieving benefits. We're talkin' wrinkles and that stress you've been dealing with - simply rolled away.

benefits of jade rolling

Jade rolling helps stimulate collagen + brighten your complexion. In addition, jade rolling reduces your puffiness, increases blood circulation + helps drain your lymph system - so those bags under your eyes are not quite so dark and puffy, allowing your cheekbones to pop, and your face to truly shine - appearing slimmer + more naturally contoured, all while reducing the appearance of fine lines.

Jade rolling is right up there with acupuncture and cupping when it comes to balancing us out. Think anxiety, fatigue, pain, exhaustion, skin, and female problems. Jade specifically is associated with protecting against negative energy and helping to balance our body and even improving our overall mood.

Even more, jade rolling improves the benefits of the lotions + serums you're already using, allowing for those oils to penetrate deeper into your skin and dermis. My favorite "skin food" is the Maya Chia Omega-3 Face Oil, it's super-hydrating and brightening.

how to roll

  1. Cleanse your face thoroughly. My go-to is Indie Lee's Brightening Cleanser, it naturally washes away impurities to leave skin soft, refreshed, and luminous.

  2. The traditional way to use the jade roller is in a upward motion (we never want to pull our skin down - gravity is doing that enough for us). Working from the neck towards the forehead. Then move in an outward motion so the toxins and buildup are able to drain through the lymph nodes. Where are your lymph nodes? They're located on either side of your neck, under your jaw and behind your ears.

  3. To make your serums + lotions more effective. Apply a small amount of serum, moisturizer, or mask prior to rolling.

  4. Keep at it for about 2 minutes or up to 10 - if you're really loving it. After just a few strokes on your face, neck, and chest, you'll see that your skin is brighter and your fine lines, are literally rolled out.
