Wedding at Wadsworth Mansion by Michael Gardella Photography

So so excited to share some of this absolutely stunning wedding with you!   Linnea and Joey picked an A team of vendors including the fabulous Lindsay of Sixpence for your Shoe to help plan their big day.  Their wedding was held at the beautiful Wadsworth mansion with their ceremony on the back lawn.  It’s like a scene out of Downton Abbey people.  Seriously.

Catering by the fab Coastal Gourmet.  Drop dead gorgeous dress came from our friends at The White Dress by the Shore and make up perfection from our very own Maureen Sullivan.

And the photos.  The photos!   Michelle Gardella is truly gifted and we were thrilled to work with her again!

It’s such a treat to see the bride on wedding day and it’s truly our favorite part of the day.  But to be able to see the bride and groom together for the first time, is priceless.

Wishing you so much love and happiness Linnea and Joey!

The What and Where on Bronzers

Greetings sun kissed beauties!

Bronzers have  been the talk of the town for a couple of years now and as much as we LOVE the sunkissed healthy glow, when it is time to apply, things can get out of hand pretty quick. Follow these simple tips so you can avoid looking too orange or glittery!

1- Choose a bronzer that is a shade or two darker than your skintone. You don’t want to go lighter and you certainly don’t want to go too too dark. Here at the boutique we offer 3 different mineral bronzers that are triple milled for flawless application and staying power.

2- Figure out what “look” you’re going for. Are you a flat matte gal or do you like a little shimmer. Not all bronzers have a shimmer to them so be sure to look into the formula behind the shade. Also, matte bronzers are better for oily skin, while ones with a little shimmer help dry skin look less dry.

3- Placement placement placement. Our favorite tip on where to place bronzer is this…think of where the sun hits you naturally. When you’ve been kickin it outside and you come back in with that nice healthy glow, where do you see the color most. Cheeks, right above your brows and on your decollete. With a nice fluffy brush these are your target areas. When applying above your cheekbones be sure to swipe through your ear towards your hairline, for a more natural glow.

Happy Memorial Day Beauties!

The 411 on SPF

Hi Beauties!

There’s a lot of buzz going around on sunscreens and SPF and it’s easy to get confused with what we should use and what is potentially harmful to our skin. Enjoy these quick tips I’ve selected for you so you can continue on and enjoy that sunshine carefree!

1. Use a Broad Spectrum. What does this mean you may ask. Broad spectrum protects against BOTH UVA (aging rays) and UVB (burning rays)

2. Stay between SPF 20 and 50. Studies show there is no greater protection above 50, therefore it may be misleading that higher protection means more protection from prolonged exposure.

3. What to look for? We suggest you shop for sunscreens that are Oxybenzone free. Oxybenzone is a chemical used in most “sport” and waterproof sunscreens that may contribute to cell damage which can cause skin cancer. Super Goop is our favorite non toxic oxybenzone free and broad spectrum sunscreen.

If you have any SPF concerns feel free to stop in for a visit, we would be happy to answer any questions and introduce you to the Super Goop sunscreen we carry!
