Name/Hometown: Shelly Dolan/ Meriden, Ct

How long have you been doing makeup? 3 years

When I’m not doing makeup, I am……playing outside, browsing makeup blogs & magazines, & spending time with my favorites

3 random facts about you: 1) I was a dancer for 15 years

2) I’ve recently fell in love with finding new recipes & cooking

3) I love listening to motivational speakers

One thing people may not know about me: I have a secret (serious) infatuation with    Broadway musicals

What got you started in the beauty industry? When I was a little girl I would look forward to my dance recitals for 2 reasons. To perform, and to have that special day of the year when my mom would do my makeup. I loved how fancy and special I’d feel. I’ve always had a love for makeup; making everyone’s inner beauty shine and helping others feel fabulous about themselves. The beauty industry practices all 3 of those things.

My beauty philosophy is…….Stay true to you yet let’s add a little extra something to make those beautiful natural features shine!

Tell us about your source of inspiration for being creative? I always go back to the female celebrities (singers, actresses, models etc) that I looked up to as a little girl and try to pull a little something from each of them and add it into my own visions. I am inspired by the hundreds of women that have made a name for themselves in all aspects of the industry and while researching their pasts is what pulls out my inner creativity.

On my IPOD now is…..Whitney Houston I wanna dance with somebody (on repeat) The original Wicked soundtrack and the new Rhianna album

Who is your beauty icon? Bobbi Brown

Who is your fashion icon? Gwen Stefani

The one beauty product I can’t live without: Jennie Fresa tinted moisturizer

My must-have beauty products of the moment: JF tinted moisturizer, mauve blush, mascara & lip gloss

My favorite perfume: Hanae Mori

I would describe my personal style as Fasual….fabulous meets casual

My favorite beauty/fashion blog is Jennie Fresa & Everything Bobbi

Right now I am reading: Best Life by Caroline Adams Miller Mapp and Dr. Michael B. Frisch

My go to manicure color is Esse Merino Cool

The reason I love working with brides is…There isn’t anything more rewarding and/or special then spending the moments, preparing the “look” for her most special day. I love the relationship that is built between the trial and wedding day that has always stuck with me for every bride I’ve ever worked with.

One beauty services or product I will splurge on & one I will save on: Facials, manicures and pedicures

My guilty pleasure is. Karaoke

My best beauty tip or advice: To ALWAYS embrace your natural beauty and appreciate all the beautiful features you have been given.
