Meet Jennie Fresa Makeup Stylist and Bridal Coordinator Maureen

Today we get to meet the one and only, Jennie Fresa makeup stylist Maureen. Maureen not only comes with 9 years experience in the make up industry,  shes also a marketing guru! Certified in eye lash extensions , also our air brushing specialist and shes in the fore front with all our brides as Bridal Coordinator. Maureen says, “I began my makeup training about 9 years ago on the MAC cosmetics team in New York.  Since then I have done many kinds of makeup from fashion shows in NYC Fashion Week, to Headshots for pageant queens, bachelorettes’ big night out, body painting events, photo shoots, lessons, and of course many lovely brides!  I have to say, some of my all-time favorite makeup moments have been with brides.  I love having a small part in someone’s big day and I love helping them look like their best self.” Meet Maureen and check our her colorful, bright and right on trend Spring must have’s. xoxo, Jennie.

Name/Hometown: Maureen Sullivan / Guilford, CT

How long have you been doing makeup? Professionally for 9 years.  If you count the numerous times I got my hands on my mom’s makeup bag, then since I was about 5 years old.

When I’m not doing makeup, I am…… working in marketing, chasing after my toddler, tackling my latest craft project (refinishing a rocking horse at the moment), trying to convince myself to go to the gym or enjoying a glass of wine (or two) with friends

What got you started in the beauty industry?  My stepmother’s best friend is a makeup artist.  When I met her I felt like I met a unicorn…’they do exist!’ I thought.  Once the seed was planted I finished getting my BS in biology and went straight to MAC to learn everything I could about being a makeup artist.

My beauty philosophy is…….makeup should make you look and feel like the best version of yourself.

Tell us about your source of inspiration for being creative? The smallest detail can serve as the source for my inspiration- from strong cheekbones to long eye lashes, a shimmery scarf to a strong color in a print- many things can spark a beautiful look.

Who is your beauty icon? Carrie Underwood continually has some of the most stunning makeup around

The one beauty product I can’t live without: one?!  Is that possible??  Here are my top five in priority order concealer, mascara, eye liner, bronzer, blush

My must-have beauty products of the moment Mineral Liquid Powder Foundation- obsessed- my friends call it doll makeup because it makes your skin look like flawless porcelain.  (Photographs amazing also)

My favorite perfume: La Chasse Aux Papillons

I would describe my personal style as current, classic, and comfortable

My favorite beauty/fashion blog is Jennie Fresa’s J

Right now I am reading: emails, facebook updates, and Quiet by Susan Cain

My go to manicure color is black pool from shellac is current favorite

The reason I love working with brides is…I love being part of such an exciting day.

One beauty service or product I will splurge on & one I will save on: Spurge on highlights, save on mascara.

My guilty pleasure is Real Housewives of NYC (ok ok, and New Jersey).

My best beauty tip or advice: don’t be afraid to try a new look- experimenting with different products is how you learn what works best for you!
